Aquilegia have beautiful foliage that emerges early in the year and in early summer has tall, drooping, colourful flowers.

They will grow in full sun but prefer partial shade. They are hardy and do not require any special attention through the winter.

Aquilegia will spread naturally but you can propagate further plants after the flowers die by allowing the pods to dry out, splitting them open and spreading the seeds onto soil. No need to bury them, just sprinkling on the surface is enough.
